Frequently Asked Questions:
Will counseling help?
Although individual results cannot be guaranteed, there is overwhelming research that indicates that clients who fully engage in counseling often reap benefits. Lower stress levels, higher levels of life satisfaction, and deeper meaning in relationships---Who wouldn't want more of that?
Are there risks in counseling?
Counseling is powerful medicine, something that carries risk. Sometimes a client may not feel better right away, and it may become clear in counseling that some aspects of life may require some painful changes. Just as a long-standing infection can require a painful surgery and recovery to make lasting relief, lasting change from counseling requires the person to engage in hard work and accept the possibility that there may be struggles ahead.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept the following insurances as an in-network provider:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance
- United Healthcare Insurance
- Aetna Insurance
- Presbyterian Health Plan
- New Mexico Health Connections Insurance
- HealthSCOPE Insurance
- Christus Health Plan
- America's Choice Provider Network Insurance
- Three Rivers Insurance
- Prime Health Services Insurance
If you are not covered by the above insurance, I cannot guarantee that you will be reimbursed by your insurance company for any amount of my service fees. I am happy to send your insurance company a bill for my services on your behalf if your plan does reimburse you for out-of-network providers. Please inquire into your insurance plan's benefits, as each plan varies widely on how much and if you will be reimbursed for my services.
What are your fees?
My fee for each 45 minute session is $100.00. I accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards: American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover.
